Rompin Fishing September 2018

Malaysia Rompin is well-known for its sailfish season around September to October period. The migratory sailfish would hang around the sea off Rompin and everyone would have a high chance to land one of these beautiful bill fish. Below is a video of the process from catching the bait to landing the sailfish. Photo taking is largely a pretty quick event so that the sailfish would not be out of the water for too long. Many game fishes died not during the fight, but at the hands of the angler taking multiple pictures.

At the same period, squid are in abundance. Usually we would be able to bag up to a hundred squid on a good day. Below is a video of catching squid off Rompin.

But there are assorted fish to be caught, too. The Spanish Mackerel are highly sough after, and are usually caught with a combination of lures and live bait on wired leaders.

Well, that all for an update on fishing off the shore pf Malaysia Rompin. If you are keen, there are tens of fishing charter around Rompin, and you can easily look for them off facebook. Please do your research wisely should you engage a fishing guide, though I think you can do without one.
